LassiterWare C.E.O. joins Leesburg Chamber Board & accepts 2015 Humanitarian Award

Leesburg, FL – The Leesburg Area Chamber of Commerce held its 79th Annual Chamber Awards and Installation Gala on Thursday, December 3. This night was dedicated to recognizing the installation of new board members and awarding individuals and organizations for their work within the 2015 year.

LassiterWare’s C.E.O., Doug Childers, Jr., was among those inducted as a new board member to the Leesburg Chamber. His passion for believing success happens through teamwork and taking action fits perfectly with the chamber’s saying – “Promoting Progress & Profit.”

The new role as a Leesburg Chamber Board Member has Mr. Childers looking forward to being a part of another great organization that helps support and enhance the community.

The inductions were not the only highlight of the night; individuals and organizations were recognized with various community awards by the Leesburg Chamber. Among the many recipients was LassiterWare’s Foundation, LassiterWare Cares, as the honorees of the 2015 Humanitarian Award.

“Typically, [this award] was created to recognize outstanding individuals who dedicate their time to improve the well-being and happiness of other people. This year, the Chamber recognized a team of individuals. [LassiterWare Cares] compassionate service is defined as action, beyond responsibilities of one’s profession that has helped to improve the welfare of humankind, including significant contributions benefiting one’s community. They not only write the check, but they get their hands dirty, sometimes literally by adding their own sweat to many projects,” said Sandi Moore, Executive Director at the Leesburg Chamber.

The 2015 Humanitarian Award was accepted by C.E.O, Doug Childers, and LassiterWare Cares Chair with LassiterWare, Mandy Funkhouser.
